Itinerary

Your holiday itinerary (ex Perth, Western Australia)

Day 1. Perth to Dalwallinu (LD)
We collect you from your home to begin your incredible 10-day holiday adventure. Visit Bindoon Museum to meet the local historical society and view the history of the Bindoon and Chittering Shires. In New Norcia, we will join a local resident for a guided tour to learn the unique history and see the sights of the area.
Overnight: The Wheatland Motel, Dalwallinu

Day 2. Dalwallinu to Meekatharra (BD)
Today, gain an insight into early pastoral and gold mining activities of the West Australian outback today on the journey to Meekatharra. Pass through Paynes Find and the historic towns of Mount Magnet, where you can enjoy lunch at your leisure before we move through Cue and arrive to Meekatharra to reside for the evening.
Overnight: Auski Inland Motel, Meekatharra

Day 3. Meekatharra to Newman (BLD)
We will continue the journey north to Newman, with a pit stop and picnic lunch along the way, we arrive to the Newman for a guided tour* of the Mount Whaleback iron ore mine, the largest of BHP Billiton’s mining operations and one of the largest open cut ore mines in the world
Overnight: Seasons Hotel, Newman

*(closed in shoes, long sleeved tops to the wrists and long pants to the ankles are essential for this tour).

Day 4. Karijini National Park (BLD)
Today we journey to through some incredible landscapes to arrive into Karijini National Park and the Karijini Eco Retreat. It’s time to settle into your eco-luxe safari tent and immerse yourself in the Australian outback for a relaxing afternoon, by evening be mesmerised by the stars above.
Overnight: Karijini Eco Retreat, Karijini National Park*

*Includes en-suite. We recommend that you take a small torch or flash light for walking to and from the dining room from your tents after dark. Warm bed clothing is essential when staying at Karijini as the temperature drops dramatically at night, quite often to subzero temperatures.

Day 5. Karijini National Park (BLD)
Spend the day exploring one of Australia’s largest and most spectacular National Parks. Take in the incredible sheer gorges, breathtaking Fortescue Falls and clear, fresh pools at Dales and Joffre Gorges.

Day 6. Karijini to Exmouth (BD)
Leave the mineral-rich Hamersley Range and head west to the coast, stopping at Cheela Plains Station for a delicious morning tea to arrive in exquisite Exmouth.
Overnight: Potshot Hotel Resort, Exmouth

Day 7. Cape Range National Park (BLD)
Awaken to board an insightful Yardie Creek cruise located in the heart of the Cape Range National Park. Discover rare wildlife on the calming creek, including the black-footed rock wallabies, take it all in with a picnic lunch surrounded by nature.
Overnight: Potshot Hotel Resort, Exmouth

Day 8. Bullara Station and Coral Bay (BLD)
Depart Exmouth this morning to move south, stopping in at Bullara Station to marvel at the wonders of the Australian outback and life on a working cattle station. Upon arrival in Coral Bay, board a glass bottom boat to get a glimpse of Ningaloo Reef’s myriad of marine and amazing coral life. Enjoy lunch at Bills Bar before being entranced by the displays at the Carnarvon Space Museum.
Overnight: Best Western Hospitality Inn, Carnarvon

Day 9. Carnarvon to Geraldton (BD)
Continue our journey south, stopping along the way at Wooramel Station, where we will get a taste of life on an operational outback station. Discover the story behind the hot baths and enjoy lunch at this family-owned cattle, sheep and goat station. Pack a day bag with your bathers and a towel just in case time allows for a brief dip in the hot baths! Our journey continues south along the North West Coastal Highway to Geraldton.
Overnight: Best Western Hospitality Inn, Geraldton

Day 10. Geraldton to Perth (BL)
On our last day we travel to beautiful bay of Jurien to enjoy a fabulous farewell lunch together, before arriving back to Perth.

Our tour activity levels are a guide to the required fitness level for each of our holidays.


Look out for the feet when reading about a tour!

  • Relaxed

    Suitable for travellers with lower mobility.


    You will be required to embark/disembark coaches, trains and other transport via steps unaided. You must be able to carry your own luggage and walk short distances. Stairs may need to be negotiated at times. Travellers with walking aids (sticks and walkers) are welcome and those requiring accompanying assistance and/or carer may consider these holidays.

  • Moderate

    Required to walk confidently and unaided.


    Expect guided walking tours of attractions with occasional inclines and stair climbs, some long days and multiple hotel changes during the holiday. Your accommodation may require access via stairs, a short walk to reach hotel facilities and have showers over baths. Walkers are ok unless there is overnight rail or cruising included in the tour.

  • Active

    Requires some fitness. Involves longer days filled with activities, excursions requiring standing and walking for extended periods of time and nature-based activities. You will be required to walk confidently over uneven ground and surfactant at a timely pace.

  • Highly Active

    Requires good general fitness. Excursions will be over more difficult terrain and require a certain level of agility. You will be required to walk confidently for up to 3 hours over uneven surfaces including soft sand, rocky surfaces and creek crossing. Some itineraries will explore remote locations. No walkers allowed.

  • Challenging

    A high level of fitness is required. Tours have an emphasis on active pursuits and often explore remote locations which are challenging to access. You will be required to walk confidently for up to 6 or more hours per day and have experience in outdoor pursuits. No walkers allowed.


    Your health, wellbeing and enjoyment of the holiday is very important to us. In order to protect the health and wellbeing of our staff and suppliers, electric scooters and buggies are not permitted on Villa tours.
