Your itinerary (ex Perth, Western Australia)
Day 1. Perth to the Murray River (D)
We collect you from home for the flight to Adelaide. On arrival in Adelaide your driver will be waiting at the baggage collection area for your transfer to Mannum to board the famous paddle steamer, PS Murray Princess. This evening, enjoy a welcome dinner as you cruise under floodlight. Overnight 7 Nights: PS Murray Princess
Day 2. Murray River wildlife (BLD)
Witness the Murray River coming to life at day break. Later, a wildlife tour aboard the discovery vessel explores the waterways and gets up close to amazing bird life. Back on board, join a game of bocce or compete in the fishing challenge before cruising upriver to Swan Reach. Enjoy entertainment by the talented crew after dinner.
Day 3. Locks and Morgan (BLD)
Cruise upriver through one of 13 locks which maintains the flow and levels of the water. Enjoy free time in the morning, then cruise to Morgan in the afternoon. Enjoy dinner and entertainment tonight.
Day 4. Waikerie and Banrock Station (BLD)
In the township of Blanchetown, board a coach to travel to Waikerie before visiting Banrock Station Wine and Wetland Centre for lunch, a DVD presentation and wine tastings. In the afternoon return to the Murray Princess for a relaxing evening.
Day 5. Caudo Vineyard and Murray River Cup (BLD)
At picturesque Caudo Vineyard enjoy a tour of the gardens and orchards then it’s back on board enjoy a leisurely lunch as you cruise downriver. Ashore at Morgan, explore the historic town and museum. This evening a sunset experience at one of the wineries is followed by dinner back on board and the fun and excitement of the Murray River Cup.
Day 6. Swan Reach and Sunnydale (BLD)
At Swan Reach join the guided walking tour and visit the Swan Reach Museum (gold coin donation at entry) then at Sunnydale, the Woolshed Show recreates typical Australian woolshed history. Tonight, a great Aussie barbecue is cooked and served on the banks of the mighty Murray, followed by an optional nocturnal tour (at your own expense).
Day 7. Cliffs and archaeological sites (BLD)
Join an optional bush tucker breakfast (at your own expense) or a bushwalk with the Captain, then cruise by magnificent cliffs scoured by the river. View ancient rock carvings on a guided boardwalk tour at Ngaut Ngaut Aboriginal Reserve, before cruising to Younghusband. Tonight, enjoy a spectacular farewell Captain's buffet dinner. Dress up and dance, if you wish.
Day 8. Adelaide and homeward bound (B)
Arriving into Mannum, your driver will meet you at Mannum Wharf. Enjoy some free time in Mannum to explore the historic town that was the birthplace of the paddle steamer before your onward transfer to Adelaide Airport for your flight to Perth. Upon arrival we will see you safely home.
