Day 7. Kununurra Ord River (BD)
Preliminary work on the Ord River Irrigation Area Project began as a small experimental farm in 1941. Seventy years later the bold and imaginative plan to dam the Ord River now supports approximately 14,000 hectares of irrigated farmland, producing an extensive variety of horticultural crops.  As we tour the area, a local guide will provide entertaining commentary on the fascinating history of this massive agricultural project.  There will be free time in the afternoon to explore the shops and galleries of Kununurra or just relax by the pool at the resort.  Overnight:  Kununurra Lakeside Resort, Kununurra
