Day 1. Perth to Brisbane (D)
Today we collect you from home and board the flight to Brisbane. On arrival to Brisbane we transfer to our hotel and tonight come together for a welcome dinner. Overnight: Comfort Inn Northgate, Brisbane
Day 2. Brisbane to Cairns to Port Douglas (BD)
On arrival to Cairns, we whisk off to the new state of the art Cairns Aquarium. Before your eyes will be incredible biodiversity of two adjoining world heritage listed areas – The Wet Tropics and The Great Barrier Reef. Spectacular colour, shape and movement will be everywhere. We then travel on to Port Douglas along the Captain Cook Highway. Hugging the coast, delight in the scenic tropical seaside and lush rainforests. Overnight Sheraton Mirage, Port Douglas
Day 3. Port Douglas (BD)
This morning you will awake to the sounds and colours of the tropics. At the Port Douglas Wildlife Habitat, we relax over a tropical breakfast with the birds. A tour of Port Douglas with one of the locals will then introduce you to this quaint resort town. Lunch is then at your leisure before we board the Lady Douglas to go in search of estuarine crocodiles and other wildlife on an idyllic calm water river cruise through mangroves and rainforest. Day 4. Sunday Markets and the Daintree Produce (BLD)
Begin this morning at the carnival atmosphere of the Port Douglas Sunday Markets then step aboard the coach for a journey to the Daintree. We have lunch planned in the Daintree and an educational journey will show you everything about a working cocoa and sugarcane farm. At the Sweet Farm you will discover everything from pod to plate in a beautiful valley setting. There is the visitor centre, gift shop, tastings, outdoor theatre and a tour. Day 5. Great Barrier Reef (BLD)
We take you to Agincourt Reef on board the vessel Quicksilver to the very outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef. Clear water provides the best possible underwater visibility, encourages rich coral growth and supports spectacular marine life. Spend the day exploring this incredible environment be it snorkelling, swimming or just taking in the amazing scenery on offer. There is the unique viewing platform and under water observatory and the opportunity to take a helicopter ride over the reef (at your own expense). Overnight Sheraton Mirage, Port Douglas
Day 6. Atherton and Forest Dining (BLD)
Into the Atherton Tablelands we travel today. At the Mareeba Heritage Museum there is a host of incredible exhibits and a passion for sharing the regions history. Not far away and nestled in one of Australia’s most diverse and richest food bowls is Skybury Tropical Plantation. Perched on the peak of the Great Dividing Range with spectacular views, this is the place to taste and tour, as it is Australia’s oldest and most successful coffee plantation. Day 7. Free Day in Port Douglas (BD)
Today is at your leisure to explore Port Douglas. Take a stroll on the famous Four Mile Beach, stroll Macrossan Street to discover the shops and cafes or take on an adventure of your choice (at own expense). There are 4WD adventures, plenty of cruise options or a wonderful relaxing day ahead for you. Tonight we come together for our farewell dinner. Overnight Sheraton Mirage, Port Douglas
Day 8. Cairns to Perth (B)
Your tropical holiday comes to a close today. We take you to the Cairns Airport for your return flight to Perth. On arrival our courtesy charter vehicle will be on hand to see you safely home.
