Day 1. Perth to Ballina (D)
We will arrive in Queensland then transfer to our accommodation in the heart of the beautiful Northern Rivers region of New South Wales. Overnight: Comfort Inn, Ballina
Day 2. Tropical fruit and Byron Bay (BD)
Across the border in Queensland, discover more than 500 fruit varieties at Tropical Fruit World. Enjoy tastings and a plantation tour before the journey to Byron Bay for lunch at leisure followed by a visit to Australia’s most easterly point then return to Ballina via the coastal route. Overnight: Comfort Inn, Ballina
Day 3. The Hinterlands (BD)
In the hinterlands, visit a beautiful working macadamia and avocado farm, then tour a farm by tractor and check out the café, nursery, gift shop and grocer. In Lismore, visit the Koala Care and Research Centre then tour the hinterlands via quaint villages before returning to Ballina. Overnight: Comfort Inn, Ballina
Day 4. Coffs Harbour (BLD)
In Coffs Harbour, stroll amongst hundreds of colourful Australian butterflies in an indoor subtropical rainforest setting. At a miniature Dutch village complete with a working railway watch a clogg making demonstration and dine at Big Oma’s Coffee House. A magical encounter with dolphins awaits in the afternoon. Overnight: Best Western Zebra Motel, Coffs Harbour
Day 5. Grafton Jacaranda Festival (BD)
Today, travel to Grafton where the Jacaranda season has gloriously transformed the streets and parks into a sea of purple blooms. Visit Prince Street, where the markets are in full swing and tour the famous streets lined with purple-blossomed jacaranda trees. Not far from Coffs Harbour, admire amazing panoramic views from the Forest Sky Pier. Overnight: Best Western Zebra Motel, Coffs Harbour
Day 6. Coffs Harbour to Port Macquarie (BD)
Step into a World Heritage Listed rainforest at the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre today. Stroll along the elevated boardwalk above the rainforest canopy for stunning views, then explore a delightful range of arts and specialist retail outlets in the charming town of Bellingen. Travel on to Port Macquarie in the afternoon. Overnight: Waters Edge, Port Macquarie
Day 7. Timbertown and Cedar Creek Goldfields (BD)
Visit Timbertown in Wauchope to ride the steam train, see the bullock display, observe the timber craftsmen at work and smell the coals of the blacksmith. Set amongst 87 acres of natural forest, the entire village has been recreated. The remainder of the day is at your leisure in Port Macquarie. Overnight: Waters Edge, Port Macquarie
Day 8. Port Macquarie to Port Stephens (BLD)
Travel to Nelson Bay and enjoy a spectacular cruise of the headlands and islands. One of Australia’s most extraordinary marine playgrounds, the Port Stephens Great Lakes Marine Park features islands, wetlands and lake systems that are home to diverse wildlife and marine life. Overnight: Peninsula, Nelson Bay
Day 9. Port Stephens to Sydney (B)
Today we travel from Port Stephens to Sydney before transfering to the Sydney Airport for the flight home to Perth. Upon arrival we will see you safely home.
