Day 1. Perth to Darwin (D)
We collect you from home and transfer you to the Perth Airport for your flight to Darwin. Upon arrival, discover Darwin on an introduction tour. Overnight: Hilton, Darwin
Day 2. Darwin’s history (B)
On a city heritage walk, hear of pioneers and events that shaped the city then continue to the Darwin Military Museum, the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory and the Darwin Aviation Museum. Tonight, enjoy a delightful evening at the famous Mindil Beach Sunset Market. Overnight: Hilton, Darwin
Day 3. Wildlife and dinner cruise (BD)
Explore the grounds of the Territory Wildlife Park to view many different species of flora and fauna. Visit the aquarium tunnel, the reptile exhibit and the nocturnal house. Discover Darwin at your leisure in the afternoon, then relax on a harbour dinner cruise this evening. Overnight: Hilton, Darwin
Day 4. Litchfield National Park (BLD)
View towering magnetic termite mounds, waterfalls, a sandstone plateau and unusual rock formations in the spectacular Tabletop Range of the Litchfield National Park. Visit the stunning Florence, Tolmer and Wangi Falls then travel to Katherine. Overnight: Contour Hotel, Katherine
Day 5. Sunset cruise, Nitmiluk Gorge (BD)
Discover a limestone cave system on a guided tour by torchlight, visit the natural thermal springs for a dip, then head to the Katherine Museum. Board a sunset candlelit dinner cruise in the evening to view the changing colours of the magnificent Nitmiluk Gorge. Overnight: Contour Hotel, Katherine
Day 6. Ord River Dam (BD)
Cross the border into the Kimberley region of Western Australia to view the great expanse of the Ord River Dam and the historic Argyle Downs Homestead built by Patrick Durack in the 1880s. Overnight: Kimberley Grande, Kununurra
Day 7. Ord River, Kununurra (BD)
A local guide will provide entertaining commentary on the fascinating history of the massive agricultural project, the Ord River Irrigation Area Project. The afternoon is then at your leisure. Overnight: Kimberley Grande, Kununurra
Day 8. Gibb River Road (BLD)
Today, travel down the famous Gibb River Road and into the raw beauty of El Questro Wilderness Park. Learn about the ancient geological and cultural history of the Kimberley on the Chamberlain Gorge River Cruise then return to Kununurra. Overnight: Kimberley Grande, Kununurra
Day 9. The Bungle Bungles (BLD)
A scenic flight takes you over Lake Argyle, the Argyle Diamond Mine and the breathtaking Bungle Bungles. Landing in the heart of the World Heritage Listed Purnululu National Park, take a guided four-wheel-driving tour and enjoy scenic walks and lunch before returning to Kununurra by air. Day 10. The Kimberley (BD)
Travel through the spectacular Kimberley region, visiting the Warmun Community (Turkey Creek) and Halls Creek before arriving into Fitzroy Crossing and spend the night in an invigorating safari tent. Overnight: Fitzroy River Lodge, Fitzroy Crossing
Day 11. Geikie Gorge (BD)
Cruise the Fitzroy River along the impressive gorge where the riverbanks are inhabited by freshwater crocodiles, fruit bats and many bird species. After lunch we’ll continue our journey to Broome. Overnight: Mangrove Hotel, Broome
Day 12. Broome Hovercraft (BD)
Visit the Pearl Lugger’s Museum and the Broome Courthouse Markets, then board a hovercraft for an unforgettable tour of scenic and historic sights, as well as the magnificent coastline of Roebuck Bay. Overnight: Mangrove Hotel, Broome
Day 13. Broome Free Day (BD)
Today explore Broome at your leisure. There are many attractions and activities to choose from. You may wish to take a day trip or a camel train ride, a scenic flight or a helicopter ride. You can take a walk and swim at Cable Beach, or simply relax with a book in the tropical gardens by the hotel pool. (Please note: Optional tours are at your own expense and these activities must be booked in advance). Overnight: Mangrove Hotel, Broome
Day 14. Broome to Perth (B)
Following breakfast, meet local Yawuru man, Bart Pigram, who will share with you a small slice of 40,000 years of Kimberley culture before you board your return flight to Perth. Upon arrival we will see you safely home.
