Day 1. Guided Walks and Talks (D)
We collect you from home for the journey north aboard the villa coach. At the Gingin Gravity Discovery Centre, a guided tour showcases the centre, gallery and walks. Travelling on to Cervantes, join the local rangers for a guided 2 hour walk through the Pinnacles Desert. There will be time to explore the Pinnacles Discovery Centre before finishing the day in Cervantes. Overnight: Cervantes Pinnacles Motel, Cervantes
Day 2. Geraldton Lobsters and Longboats (BD)
This morning, leave the turquoise coast for Geraldton. In Geraldton there is a very special collection of 7000 decorative tins to discover, a guided tour of a working lobster factory, the passionate volunteers behind the Batavia Longboat Replica to meet and the opportunity to take a short cruise on the replica boat. Overnight: Best Western Hospitality Inn, Geraldton
Day 3. Abrolhos Island Scenic Flight 4 Hour Tour (BD)
Today, board your small aircraft for an extended scenic overfly of Geraldton and the Abrolhos Islands. En route your pilot will point out pearl farms, the historic church on Basile Island, coloured fisherman’s camps, marine life, the oldest European building in Australia and shipwrecks. On landing, take a walk to beautiful Turtle Bay, enjoy morning tea then choose between a guided snorkelling adventure or a guided nature walk. Late this afternoon, 30kms from Geraldton, a sunset experience at Leanes Trench will transport you to another time. A world first, the authentic replica of a 140 metre long trench is keeping alive what the Anzacs did at Gallipoli. Overnight: Best Western Hospitality Inn, Geraldton
Please note that the aircraft we will be flying in will be made up of a varied fleet of small aircraft and will be dependent on final numbers departing on this tour. You will be required to have suitable mobility to embark and disembark these small aircraft without assistance. The Abrolhos Islands are a remote location without facilities.
Day 4. Geraldton’s Legacies and History (BL)
Explore Monsignor Hawkes legacy with a visit to the Heritage Centre followed by a coach tour of Geraldton taking in Monsignor Hawkes significant sites and localities with a local specialist guide. The day is then completed with a visit to the HMAS Sydney Memorial, a wonderful farewell lunch at the new Geraldton waterfront and a Ships Gallery tour at the Geraldton Museum before boarding the late afternoon flight home.
