Your itinerary (ex Perth, Western Australia)

Day 1. Guided walks and talks (D)
We collect you from home for the journey north, stopping at Gingin’s Gravity Discovery Centre for a guided tour. Travelling on to Cervantes, we will join the local rangers for a guided two-hour walk through the iconic Pinnacles Desert. There will be time to explore the Pinnacles Discovery Centre before finishing the day in Cervantes. Overnight: Cervantes Pinnacles Motel, Cervantes

Day 2. Geraldton’s legacies and longboats (BD)
This morning we will leave the Turquoise Coast and travel north to Geraldton. Upon arrival, we will visit the Monsignor Hawes Heritage Centre to learn about the legacy of this talented architect and priest, followed by a coach tour of other buildings designed by Monsignor Hawes with a local specialist guide. Then we’ll head to the Museum of Geraldton to join a tour of the Shipwrecks Gallery and meet the passionate volunteers behind the Batavia Longboat Replica. We will finish the day’s touring with a visit to the scenic HMAS II Sydney Memorial. Overnight: Best Western Hospitality Inn, Geraldton

Day 3. Abrolhos Islands scenic flight (BD)
Board your small aircraft for an extended scenic flight over Geraldton and the Abrolhos Islands. En route, your pilot will point out pearl farms, the historic church on Basile Island, colourful fisherman’s camps, marine life, the oldest European building in Australia and coastal shipwrecks. Upon landing, take a walk to beautiful Turtle Bay for morning tea, then choose between a guided snorkelling adventure or a guided nature walk. This evening we will enjoy a sunset experience at Leanes Trench, a replica World War I trench located 30 kilometres from Geraldton. A world first, this authentic replica of a 140-metre-long trench honours the efforts of Anzac soldiers at Gallipoli. Overnight: Best Western Hospitality Inn, Geraldton
