Day 1. Perth to Brisbane (D)
Your tour commences with courtesy transfer to the Perth Airport for your flight to Brisbane.  Overnight: Comfort Inn Northgate Airport, Brisbane
Day 2. Brisbane to Longreach (BLD)
This morning board your early morning flight for Longreach.  On arrival, an orientation tour will familarise you with this great outback town.  Lunch today will be at the Qantas Founders Museum in the McGinness Restaurant followed by time at the world class award winning museum which brings the story of the founding of Qantas alive.  The Jet Tour is an extravaganza that will take you behind the scenes aboard two jet aircraft. Walking inside the aircraft you will see features of the aircraft that only crew and employees would experience as well as learn about the secrets of the planes.  Overnight: Albert Park Motor Inn, Longreach

Day 3. Longreach Cemetery, Stations and Sunsets (BLD)
Discover some of the wonderful treasures of Longreach today.  Firstly, cemeteries are fascinating places to discover the local history of a town.  Your Longreach Cemetery Tour will reveal secrets of the outback and amaze you.  Discover pioneers and characters that left their mark and learn of criminals, legends and heroes.  Next, step into a bygone era atmosphere at the Station Store which is stocked full of outback gifts and souvenirs and is a historic building dating back to 1880’s.  In the afternoon we join the Walker family for a personalised station tour to experience the working cattle and sheep farm and to relax over lunch.  Late this afternoon your Thomson River Sunset cruise is followed by a stockman’s dinner, bush poetry and a sound and light show.  Overnight: Albert Park Motor Inn, Longreach
Day 4. Ilfracombe and Stockman’s Hall of Fame (BD)
Travel the short distance along the Matilda Highway to Ilfracombe where you will learn of the colourful story of the development of western Queensland which is immortalised within the streets of this special little outback town.  At your leisure gain rare glimpses of a bygone era and discover fascinating and unbelievable collections and memorabilia at the Machinery Mile, Hilton’s Corner, the Wellshot Centre, the Post Office and the Wellshot Pub.  In the afternoon we return to Longreach.  Late this afternoon travel to the famous and iconic Stockman Hall of Fame Museum for not only the wonderful museum experience but also a dinner and show.  Overnight: Albert Park Motor Inn, Longreach
Day 5. Winton Discoveries (BL)
Winton is more than just a town.  The dinosaur capital of Australia, it is a place where movies stars’ shine, the Jolly Swagman was born, and QANTAS launched.  And at the heart of Winton stands the famous North Gregory Hotel.  Established in 1879, the hotel has a rich history. It was here that Australia’s unofficial national anthem, Waltzing Matilda, was played in public for the first time, that in the 1920s, secret meetings took place to form a small airline called QANTAS and where Lyndon B. Johnson stayed when his plane was forced to land in the Outback during World War II.  Next experience the world's largest collection of Australian dinosaur bones and the most productive Fossil Preparation Laboratory in the Southern Hemisphere!  The inspiring and educational tour will take you to the heart of the Museum, the Fossil Preparation Laboratory and Collection Room.  Here they discover and uncover dinosaur bones every day in the working Laboratory giving visitors a real dinosaur experience.  At Corfield and Fitzmaurice, Winton's first general store, there is a great selection of handmade crafts and a mini museum.  In the afternoon return to Longreach.  Overnight: Albert Park Motor Inn, Longreach
Day 6. Carnarvon Gorge Wilderness Lodge (BD)
Today we make the journey to the Carnarvon Gorge Wilderness Lodge.  Relax and sit back aboard your coach and watch the outback scenery glide by as you travel to the lodge by way of Emerald.  Stops will be made along the way for lunch and morning tea.  On arrival and adjacent to the National Park is your bush holiday setting.  This distinctive safari style cabin accommodation adjacent to Carnarvon Gorge National Park is the perfect getaway for everyone!  With plenty of active wildlife to see up close, a salt water swimming pool and licensed restaurant, Carnarvon Gorge Wilderness Lodge offers a bush holiday in style.  With Aboriginal rock art, wildlife and nature within close proximity to the well-appointed safari cabins, a picturesque landscape is formed that mixes outback charm perfectly with comfort. Day 7. Carnarvon Gorge Wilderness Lodge (BLD)
This morning is at your leisure.  In the afternoon you will experience the Carnarvon Gorge National Park on a half day guided walk to discover its lush other worldly oasis.  Following the Carnarvon Creek through the gorge find giant cycads, king ferns, flooded gums, cabbage palms, deep pools and if you are lucky, a platypus.  Late afternoon we travel to a nearby station to experience a Bandana Station Sunset.  Breathtaking cliffs, 30km escarpments illuminated and entertainment will leave you in awe of this very special place. Day 8. Eco Lodge, Emerald and Spirit of the Outback Rail Journey (BLD)
A leisurely start today, with more time to enjoy your surrounds amidst the eco lodge’s.  In the afternoon travel aboard your coach to Emerald where an introductory tour of the town includes the historic timber railway station decorated with intricate iron lace works, the fossilised tree, Van Gogh sunflower painting and the Botanical Gardens.  Tonight begin your outback rail experience.  Aboard the Spirit of the Outback take a journey through ever changing scenery and rugged terrain as you make your way south to Brisbane.  For the overnight journey, settle into your First Class Sleeper.  Dining aboard will be in the exclusive Tuckerbox Dining Car and enjoy exclusive access to the Shearers Rest lounge, the perfect spot to relax.  Overnight: Spirit of the Outback
Day 9. Arrive Brisbane and Homeward Bound (B)
Awake this morning to the ever changing scenery as the final leg of your journey is taken.  On arrival into Brisbane transfer to the Brisbane Airport for your flight to Perth.  On arrival to Perth, our courtesy transfers will be waiting to see you safely home.
