Day 1. Perth to Clare Valley (D)
Your outback adventure begins with courtesy home collection and transfer to the Perth Airport for your flight to South Australia. On arrival to Adelaide we transfer to the Clare Valley and our accommodation for the evening. Overnight: Clare Country Club, Clare Valley
Day 2. Petersborough Steamtown and Wilpena Panorama (BLD)
This morning travel onto Petersborough located on the edge of the Southern Flinders. The landscape is wide and old and the town is tiny. At Peterborough’s Steamtown learn about the vast rail operations of times gone. It is here that 100 steam locomotives passed through each day before heading to all corners of Australia. At Hawker, visit the gallery of internationally acclaimed fine artist Jeff Morgan and discover the impressive and famous Wilpena Panorama. Overnight: Wilpena Pound Resort
Day 3. Wilpena Pound and Rawnsley Park (BD)
In the morning we take a guided leisurely walk along Wilpena Creek in Wilpena Pound. At the Old Hills Homestead learn about the hardships of the turn of the century and admire the extraordinary beauty of the great river red gums. This afternoon at Rawnsley Park, learn about life on a commercial sheep station. Overnight: Wilpena Pound Resort
Day 4. Flinders Range Sunset (BD)
Today you are free to enjoy the resort or take an adventure of your own (at your own expense). There are a number of tour options including scenic flights. In the afternoon we come together to witness the sun set in the magnificent Flinders Rangers. Observe the changing colours over Wilpena Pound and the Flinders Range and marvel at the vast ancient landscape before your eyes. Overnight: Wilpena Pound Resort
Day 5. Wilpena to Arkaroola (BLD)
This morning it’s an early start for an epic journey through the outback. Travel through the Flinders Ranges and on to Blinman where we go underground at the Blinman Heritage Tourist Mine. Covered shoes are must to the tour the historic copper mine. Relive the live and times of the miners and their families during the second half of the 19th century. Back on board the coach journey on to Arkaroola. We arrive into the wilderness sanctuary in the evening. Overnight: Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary
Day 6. Arkaroola Wilderness (BLD)
Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary is located in the ruggedly spectacular northern Flinders Ranges and contains some of Australia’s most spectacular mountain views. An early morning breakfast tour will take you to a tranquil waterhole to view the rock wallabies and the world famous Ridgetop Tour travels via ancient seabeds and across razor back ridges and peaks of the Flinders Ranges most rugged mountains. Overnight: Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary
Day 7. Arkaroola to Parachilna (BLD)
Our road trip today takes us to Parachilna. A hidden gem, you will find a long association with the Ghan Railway and the famous Prairie Hotel. Stepping inside the hotel you will be welcomed in true outback style to discover an eclectic array of art and woodwork and a very South Australian menu. Overnight: The Prairie Hotel, Parachilna
Day 8. Outback to Clare Valley (BLD)
Continuing the outback theme, Quorn is we go behind the scenes at Pichi Richi Railway’s Quorn workshops to find a hidden paradise of history railway treasures in various stages of restoration. Closed footwear must be worn. Following lunch in Quorn we travel on to Clare via the Melrose Museum. Overnight: Clare Country Club, Clare Valley
Day 9. Clare Valley to Perth (B)
Your outback adventure comes to an end today as we transfer you to the Adelaide Airport for your return flight to Perth. On arrival, your courtesy small charter vehicle will be on hand to see you safely home.
