Day 1. Perth to Brisbane (D)
Today we collect you from home and board the flight to Brisbane.  On arrival to Brisbane, we transfer to our hotel and tonight come together for a welcome dinner.  Overnight: Comfort Inn Northgate, Brisbane
 
Day 2. Brisbane to Cairns (BD)
This morning Tropical North Queensland is our destination.  On arrival to Cairns a brief city orientation tour will introduce you to this world class holiday destination and tonight a special evening is planned.  Enjoy ceremonies, a feast and relax around the fire for a night of cultural entertainment. Overnight: Novotel Cairns, Cairns
 
Day 3. Tropical Gardens and Aquarium (BD)
At the Cairns Botanical Gardens enter into a tropical paradise, renowned as one of the best exhibitions of tropical plants in Australia.  Learn about tropical flora and horticulture before we whisk off to the new state of the art Cairns Aquarium.  Before your eyes view the incredible biodiversity of two adjoining world heritage listed areas – The Wet Tropics and The Great Barrier Reef.  Spectacular colour, shape and movement will be everywhere.  This evening it is a different pace as you relax aboard a sunset harbour cruise. Day 4. Green Island Cruise (B)
Today enjoy the beauty of Green Island, part of the Great Barrier Reef. Departing from Cairns, and just 45 minutes across the Coral Sea, spend the morning on this beautiful 6000-year-old coral cay located within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.  You can choose to snorkel (at own expense), swim, stay dry or view the spectacular underwater reef in the semi submarine.  Overnight: Novotel Cairns, Cairns
 
Day 5. Kuranda Railway (BD)
Built over 100 years ago, the historic Kuranda Scenic Railway is a magnificent rail journey that winds past mountainous walls of the Barron Gorge National Park, through rock tunnels and past tumbling waterfalls.  Once in Kuranda, immerse yourself in the village in a rainforest.  For the return journey you will have a bird’s eye view from the amazing gondola ride high above the rainforest.  Overnight: Novotel Cairns, Cairns
 
Day 6. Atherton Lakes and Craters (BD)
We leave Cairns behind and enter the lush highland plateau of the Atherton Tablelands.  Vibrant green forests and pastures will unfold.  Lake Barrine is a picturesque destination for morning tea followed by a tranquil cruise on a crater lake.  In Yungaburra we visit the Memorial Park dedicated to those who have served in the fight against terror.  We then travel on to the Curtin Fig Tree a fantastic look at the effects of nature and a great photo opportunity.  Overnight: Atherton Motel, Atherton
 
Day 7. Historic Herberton Village (BD)
At Herberton Village, step back in time as you discover and remember things from your childhood days.  The vintage precinct is a remarkable collection of over 60 buildings and on some days, traditional crafts are demonstrated.  Next a unique wildlife experience will introduce you to baby animals of the most unlikely, being taken care of before being released into the wild.  To complete the day, travel through a manmade tunnel to discover one man’s passion for crystals and fossils.  Overnight: Atherton Motel, Atherton
 
Day 8. Tablelands Produce and Waterfalls (BLD)
Today it is all about the delicious produce of the highlands and spectacular waterfalls.  At Gallo Dairyland, sample the dairy products and the hand crafted chocolates, enjoy the ambience of the surrounding scenery and see the age old method of cheese making.  Next, we visit the Nerada Tea, Australia’s largest tea grower.  At the plantation and factory discover how the tea is grown, processed and see it all in action with stunning views over the beautiful plantation.  Your day in the hinterlands finishes at the cascading water of Millaa Millaa Falls.  Overnight: Atherton Motel, Atherton
 
Day 9. Tablelands to Perth (BD)
We bid farewell to the highlands and make our way to Cairns for our return flight to Perth.  On arrival, our courtesy small charter vehicle will be on hand to see you safely home.
