Day 1/2. Arrive into Africa (Inflight, D)
Today we arrive at Johannesburg and transfer by air to Port Elizabeth where we are met by our local guide before taking the journey on to our private game lodge. A family owned and operated Big 5 private safari reserve, it incorporates 10,000 hectares of African wilderness as well as two abundant rivers. After checking into the Main Lodge where your accommodation has its own private viewing deck, board your 4x4 open vehicle and with your professional ranger, enjoy a stunning safari drive. Day 3. Private Game Lodge Adventures (BLD)
Today, enjoy your early morning and evening safari drives as you go in search of African wildlife. Traversing the valleys and grassy plains, watch out for the Big 5 and other game roaming freely in their natural habitat. The awe inspiring African landscape will captivate your senses. By day there are many other experiences to enjoy at your leisure. There is the peace and tranquillity of the dramatic river valley on a cruise, guided bush walks with experienced rangers and local attractions nearby (at own expense). Day 4. Private Game Lodge Adventures (BLD)
This morning, return to the inspiring wild landscapes to go in search one more time for the amazing African wildlife and game. Returning to the lodge enjoy breakfast and lunch before we depart the African Bush for Cape Town. After a short flight from Port Elizabeth, we arrive into the beautiful city crowned by the magnificent Table Mountain National Park. We transfer to our accommodation for the evening. Day 5. Cape Town City Tour (BD)
Today the grand splendour of Cape Town comes to life on a tour of the city. Discover its glorious geographical and cultural delights and explore all the “must-sees” including its historical beginnings to the dazzling modern city it is today. Weather permitting, commence with Table Mountain for panoramic views then take in Company Gardens, the SA Museum and visit Castle of Good Hope. In the afternoon enjoy free time to explore the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. Tonight a special African evening is planned. Overnight: The Portswood Hotel, Cape Town
Day 6. Cape Point and Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens (B)
A full day of touring will take in the awe inspiring headland of Cape Point. Magnificent beaches, breathtaking views and historic and picturesque coastal villages make up one of the world’s most scenic areas. Watch out for antelope and zebra and visit the local penguin colony. The highlight of the day will be a visit to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. The garden is world-renowned for the beauty and diversity of the Cape Flora it displays and for the magnificence of its setting against the eastern slopes of Table Mountain. Day 7. Winelands Tour (BD)
Nearby in the Boland Mountains, we tour the Winelands. Explore historic towns and sample liquid delights and gastronomic wonders. Taste world-renowned wines and sample South Africa’s answer to Champagne. Natural and historic heritage abounds. Idyllic Franschhoek, settled by French Huguenots in 1688, is a delight for antique lovers and Stellenbosch, South Africa’s second-oldest town, provides a glimpse of classic 17th-century Cape style. Browse quaint Dorp Street and the many museums, galleries and shops of this lovely university town. Overnight: The Portswood Hotel, Cape Town
Day 8. Zimbabwe (BD)
Bid Cape Town farewell and join your flight to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. This evening after transferring to your lodge, enjoy a late afternoon sunset cruise on the Zambezi Explorer. Cruising the mighty Zambezi River is the ultimate relaxing African experience. Indulge in beautiful scenery and wildlife sightings along the river and celebrate the African sunset. Dinner tonight will be at your lodge. Overnight: Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, Zimbabwe.
Day 9. Victoria Falls (BLD)
Following breakfast, witness the magnificent Victoria Falls on a morning tour. Forming the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, you will be struck by the beauty and grandeur of this incredible wonder of nature. The afternoon is at your leisure. Take advantage of the shuttle bus that runs to town and the rainforest. Tonight a very special evening is planned at your lodge, a Boma dinner and drum show. Day 10/11. Africa to Perth (B, Inflight)
Your African adventure comes to an end. After breakfast, we depart for the airport and your flight home to Perth via Johannesburg. On arrival our courtesy small charter vehicles will be on hand to see you safely home.
