What a fascinating piece of paradise and just off our West Australian Coast, the Abrolhos Islands is steeped in history and natural beauty.
 
We joined the boat Eco Abrolhos for 4 perfect days of culture and cruising, immersing in nature with several snorkelling opportunities to float and gaze at the remarkable coral reefs, deep blue pools, clear sandy bottoms that yield an abundance of diverse colourful fish. Finding Nemo was high on the agenda!
 
Daily excursions in the glass bottom boat allowed us to glide over the coral reefs at different depths; the weather was so perfect for glass bottom viewing.  Early mornings found some of us kayaking along the edge of the reef within the protected waters of the island, with seal lions lazing nearby, curiously watching all of our activities be it beach walking, photographing, snorkelling or swimming.
 
We were able to step ashore to meet the local cray fishermen, walking amongst their homes and seeing firsthand the resilience of living in this remarkable environment.  Another highlight was watching the precious different coloured pearls emerging from the oyster under expert hands. 
 
Another day several of us went deep sea fishing, catching the evening meal of Dhufish and Rainbow Trout just to name a few. To accompany the seafood cuisine, freshly pulled crays, fresh salads and desserts each evening.  You certainly won’t go hungry on this adventure!
 
To end perfect days, a sunset drink up on the top deck watching the sun slowly set over the horizon, highlighting the 360-degree view over the Indian Ocean, just perfect.
