Dee has worked with villa for over 6 years as a Tour Leader.  Having led a past life as a Travel Consultant and also in education, Dee began her Tour Leading experience with villa’s wonderful Western Australia road trips and tours. In more recent years, Dee has led villa tours all over the globe and Australia wide including South America, Mauritius, Reunion Island, Norfolk, Europe and all Australian states and territories including Outback Australia and our famous rail journeys.

We sat down with Dee after her most recent villa tour to ask her a couple of questions.

What are your favourite things to do when touring?

The joy of walking interesting paths with new companions.  Visiting places I would not know about if they weren’t featured on tour.  Learning about other peoples ‘reality’, where and how they live, what they love about where they live.

What were the highlights from the last tour you hosted with villa?

I have just come back from our Ghan and Top End tour which featured time in Darwin and Adelaide and 3 nights aboard the Ghan.  There were so many highlights but three really stand out for me.

The wide open spaces of Oz, the brilliantly coordinated surprises organised in the middle of nowhere by the friendly and efficient Ghan crew and my wonderful group of travellers who just made the experience!

What do you love about travelling?

Being ‘in the moment’ as there is nothing else like it!

What can our travellers expect on the upcoming villa tours?

Great energy from the villa crew and villa office staff.  New and unique travel experiences and the opportunity to revisit old favourites.  Meet new friends and renew acquaintances from previous tours and most importantly the FREEDOM to enjoy and not do ANY of the planning and research before their holiday - other than choosing one!
