Villa's inaugural Rottnest Island day trip was a great success!

Rotto Bliss!
Great excitement as Dee’s passengers arrive at Terminal B for Villa’s inaugural day trip to Rotto!
There was no-fuss boarding of our sleek vessel, and calm seas with a light breeze sets the scene for smooth sailing on a glorious sunny morning.
A quick group photo and briefing, then some of group hit the Visitor Information Centre for maps, whilst others freestyle their way to the Main Bus stop under the watchful eye of Tour Leader, Dee.
All aboard! We are seated comfortably whilst our coach driver, Gary navigates the cyclist and pedestrian oriented roadways, extolling the stories of this island paradise. Bay after bay of aquamarine blue waters, pristine white beaches and swathes of Rottnest blue daisies. We learn of war history, quokkas and tourism, boys reform and aboriginal incarcerations, water and power production.
Rottnest usually hosts in excess of 850,000 visitors annually, however, this year there are only a handful of West Australians enjoying the tranquility of this beautiful island. The island is taking a breather, flora is rebounding with healthy growth, quokkas are resuming their natural semi-nocturnal habits and the Rottnest Island Authority is maintaining and upgrading Oliver Hill, museum and lighthouse precincts.
Following our tour of the island, we are let loose to explore Rottnest Island at our leisure. Some passengers opt to swim in the crystal waters at the Basin, others dine at the upgraded Quokka Arms precinct, a few investigate the recently completed eco campsite at Pinky’s Beach, whilst others explore the many historic buildings in the Main Settlement and visit the old cemetery, or join the quokka tour led by yellow-clad volunteer guides. One lady did the hop on/off bus tour around the island, to capture the beauty a second time.
Following our free time, we gather once again for our afternoon tea at the Dome, signalling it is nearly time to head back to the big smoke. Lots of happy, smiling faces, enthusiastic chatter sharing adventures of the day and lovely cuppa.

We received some wonderful feedback from passengers almost immediately on their return home!
