Escaping Winter

Join with Tour Leader Jane as she explores the Kimberley and Northern Territory
This past June, myself and a great bunch of villa travellers escaped winter and headed to the Kimberley and Northern Territory, and with temperatures averaging 33 degrees, what more could we ask for!
Villa’s 12 day Kimberley, Katherine and Kakadu Explorer holiday to the far north showcased everything from the Staircase to the Moon in Broome to magnificent sunsets on Darwin Harbour and everything in between.
Beginning in Broome we visited the Pearl Luggers Museum, Gantheaume Point and the famous Cable Beach before heading across to Fitzroy Crossing and the amazing Geikie Gorge. The scenery was just spectacular. Next, Halls Creek, Warnum and a couple of roadhouses are all we see as we headed to Kununurra. We're now in the remote North West and loving it.
After visiting Nitmiluk Gorge and Katherine Hot Springs it's into Kakadu National Park as we spend two days exploring this incredible National Park. At Ubirr our Indigenous guide explained the rock art, then we called into the Bowali Visitor and Interpretive Centre. That afternoon we glided across the waters on a Yellow Waters Cruise, our guide pointing out an array of birds and of course we saw the obligatory estuarine crocodile. Adelaide River is our next stop with the Jumping Crocodile Cruise, a sight to behold! Then the Windows on the Wetlands and Fogg Dam before arriving in Darwin for a couple of days.
Villa’s passengers thoroughly enjoyed their day visiting the Charles Darwin Botanical Gardens, Darwin Military Museum, The Museum and Art Gallery of N.T. and The Aviation Museum before a relaxing sunset dinner cruise on Darwin Harbour. Both myself and these wonderful villa travellers all agreed this was an amazing tour and didn't want it to end. I hope to see you on villa’s Kimberley, Katherine and Kakadu adventure next year.
Love the Kimberley region? Look out for Villa's next escape to the north coming soon!
