Day 1. Perth to Toowoomba (D)
We collect you from home and whisk you away to the Garden City for a colourful spring sojourn. Your flight will take you via Sydney and directly on to Toowoomba where you will arrive into Australia’s first privately funded public airport just 15 minutes for Toowoomba. Overnight each night: Country Comfort, Toowoomba
Day 2. Toowoomba Sightseeing (BD)
On the edge of the Great Dividing Range, Toowoomba will be a kaleidoscope of colour and a feast for your senses. Following an introductory tour of the picturesque country town spend time behind the scenes at the Cobb and Co Museum which displays 50 horse drawn vehicles and the cultural history of the Darling Downs. The only road building museum in Australia, the Transport and Main Roads Heritage Centre offers an exclusive perspective of the history of road building in Queensland. Travel the winding road throughout this unique museum where exhibits offer plenty of information about road planning, construction and maintenance for you to explore.
Day 3. Railways, Gardens and Countryside (BD)
In a beautiful valley tucked in the ranges, The Spring Bluff Railway Station is the destination this morning. A heritage listed site on the main railway line between Ipswich and Toowoomba the station has a history spanning 150 years. Journey by rail to this picturesque destination to step into beautiful landscaped gardens where you will find all your old favourites including; poppies, ranunculus, stock and snapdragons. In the afternoon, come and see all the wonderful clocks and enjoy a German experience at the Black Forest Hill Cuckoo Clocks! Tonight a special evening is planned. A guided tour of the DownsSteam Tourist Railway and Museum reveals themed carriages, old engines, memorabilia and much more. Your tour is followed by dinner in a carriage.
Day 4. Toowoomba Parks and Gardens (BD)
Toowoomba is home to many beautiful parks and gardens. Today aboard your coach you will have the opportunity to take the time to experience some of them. The Toowoomba Japanese Garden is the largest, most complex and traditionally designed Japanese Garden in Australia. The meticulously tended Queens Park is home to Toowoomba's Botanical Gardens. Sitting adjacent to the CBD, the park features stunning floral beds, wide open spaces and tree-lined paths. With views of Table Top Mountain, the Lockyer Valley and the Darling Downs, Preston Peak Wines is a beautiful estate vineyard located in the Granite Belt.
Day 5. Carnival Activities (BD)
Today we have saved for the activities and festivities of The Carnival of Flowers. There will be displays and extravaganzas for you to explore and experience. The award winning carnival is a massive 10 day fiesta to celebrate the colours of spring all over the city. In the afternoon visit Harrow Homestead, a private home and a grand residence with the warmth and charm of yesteryear. Take time to explore the surrounds then relax with a sumptuous afternoon tea.
Day 6. Darling Downs (BD)
Visit the oldest and largest operating Woolshed in the world with over 150 years of history. Amidst a rural atmosphere and the serenity of Australian bush explore the museum village and enjoy morning tea and country hospitality. Following morning tea board the coach for a drive into the Bunya National Park, Queensland’s second oldest national park which features ancient bunya pines and rainforest. Perched 1100 metres high and offering a quiet allure the pristine, peaceful and spectacular setting will take your breath away.
Day 7. Toowoomba to Sydney to Perth (B)
Bid farewell to the Garden City and begin the journey home to Perth. On arrival into Perth our courtesy small charter vehicle will be on hand to transfer you safely home.
